The Office of Public Prosecutions had the idea (after working with Coop) to begin to fundraise for Court Dogs Victoria. Little Coops were bought, and bandanas printed, and it was so popular, we need to bring it to our website so the OPP doesn’t get inundated with "Coop"calls.
Thank you so much to Julie Morrison for her idea, and bringing it to fruition. Julie has been instrumental in this journey. We would not be here today without her foresight and support.
You can also buy a "Coop" puppy for someone who is going through tough times, awaiting a court trial, who can draw from her stories, and cuddle a soft toy for support.
Each dog takes up to two years to train to the level required to work within agencies. And cost $30,000 dollars each. We are looking to place these dogs at no cost to the agencies involved, so that they may be able to help many individual people, and their families, through some of the most traumatic times in their lives.
Each dog will be available to help hundreds of people each year, including our most vulnerable children, with their unconditional love and support.
